Hunting With the Swiss K31 Surplus Rifle

I love my Swiss K31 Rifle. This is by far the coolest surplus rifle I have ever shot. It has a unique straight pull bolt action that I find very easy to work. The accuracy of this rifle is astounding! I can shoot a steel gong at 400 yards with the open sights on this thing. With that said, I did not take a shot at any deer unless they were 100 yards are less just to ensure a clean kill. Found under the butt plate of my K31 is the name of the soldier the rifle was originally issued to. See the video at the end of these pictures.

  1. Very cool indeed. Are they insanely expensive like everything else?

  2. I picked this one up a few years ago for $199.99 from Aim Surplus. I'm not sure what they are going for now. This one has the Walnut stock.

  3. Graf and sons used to have LOTS of parts for these when I checked 6 months ago including Bayonets for the cheapest I have seen. If you get a spare bolt just make sure it is the same head space stamp. there were 4 different specs that I know of over the period of there manufacture. If I could only find a spare Mag for less than 100$...

  5. Though a hunter mishandling and injuring himself or a family member may not result in liability, injuring another hunter will most likely result in a liability claim. More about the author
