Trail Camera Photos September 22, 2012

I just did a quick trip to the ranch to check on the trail camera and sight in an AR15. Here are a few of the highlights from the trail camera that I have set up at my new tree stand in the video below. Remember, our area is over populated with white tail. I think the first picture proves it. If you recall from my previous post, my camera date is not set properly so the date is still off.

Trail Camera Photos September 2012

No matter how diligent I think I am about setting the date on these motion cameras, I always seem to get it wrong. These were taken in the last 3 weeks so it was the last week of Aug and the 1st two weeks of September. So ignore the date stamp.

2011 Hunting Videos

I had some Issues with YouTube and some older videos. So in the spirit of deer season about to start here in Texas and the fact that some of my videos got "branded" as inappropriate, I thought I'd link them here.

Our Hunting Cabin in Central Texas

Join me on a tour of our hunting cabin. This cabin was constructed by myself, friends and relatives over about a 3 year period. We plan to make a few more additions as time allows. If you have any ideas or suggestions for the cabin please feel free to comment. A video slide show of the construction from foundation to present. We have since added a 12V deep cycle battery and a solar panel for charging and maintaining it. This provides 12V DC for charging of accessories as well as the use of a DV to AC inverter to run fans. Below are some sketches that I made for some brainstorming sessions with one of the guys who had some AUTOCAD experience. Together we hammered out a few details as you can see from these drawings. But keep in mind that we used these more as a "thinking outloud" exercise. Therefore we did not stick to these plans exactly and deviated where we thought was needed.

Bresser TrueView Konig 1-4x24 Scope REVIEW

Bresser also makes other scopes in addition to the Konig I used on my 3-gun AR15. Their other scopes are more in line with the hunting variety and have the illuminated reticle as well. The optics are just as clear in my opinion on their other scopes. As I mentioned in the video, Bresser makes a fairly low cost range finder. There are not that many out there for around $100. My only complaint about this range finder is that the aiming reticle is kinda big if you want to range something 200 or more yards away. But for my purposes, it works just fine. Especially for the price point. I use my range finder for bow hunting.

Stone Cabin Construction Project

If you've seen my hunting cabin videos then you may or may not be aware of my most recent construction project.  This renovation of an old stone chicken coupe was originally built by my Great Uncle back in the 1940's  It has withstood the test of time and now deserves a revitalization.  Join me as my cousins and I conduct a weekend warrior style of construction (basically none of us are professional home builders).
